Korfball in the Senior School

NOTE TO TEACHERS

• Korfball is an ideal sport to use as a unit for assessment of NCEA in the senior school because most students will not have played a lot of korfball, hence they are all starting from a relatively similar position in learning stage.

• The ‘Hot Tips for Korfball’ Rubric that can be used to assess practical korfball skills at level 2 NCEA for:

  Achievement Standard 90436 - Physical Education 2.5
  Demonstrate performance in a physical activity in an applied setting.

• This Rubric could also be modified to help assess:

  Achievement Standard 90524 - Physical Education 1.3
  Demonstrate quality movement in the performance of a physical activity.

• The ‘Hot Tips for Korfball’ Workbook could also be modified to help assess:

  Achievement Standard 90525 - Physical Education 1.6
  Examine the quality of movement in performance of a physical activity.
