Lets Play Korfball
LESSON SIX and SEVEN – Tournament Play
- Divide class into three or four teams for these lessons, depending on class size and facilities. Teams of
eight players, four male and four female, is the ideal. Teams can play ‘short’ but this can be a frustrating
experience for both teams and less than three male and three female players is not a viable team.
- Get students in their teams to look over their ‘Hot Tips’ reflection from lesson three on team work. Discuss
in their team what strategies they might use and how they are going to work together.
- In their team students can have skill practice time. Using their ‘Hot Tips for Korfball’ students can spend
time working on skills they have identified as needing improvement.
- Game time. Depending on space and facilities the ideal is to have two games running simultaneously so all
students are involved. If facilities for one game are available get the other one or two teams to use the time
in skills practice.
- Get students to complete their
‘Hot Tips for Korfball’ workbooks.
